Our Mission
Most bottleneck calculators give you a single flat percentage and call it a day. We built Mybotleneckcalculator because that number, on its own, doesn’t actually tell you what to do next. Our mission is simple: give every PC builder a clear, resolution-specific answer about what’s holding their system back and exactly what to upgrade to fix it without the guesswork, the ads, or the vague “your GPU might be a bit weak” verdicts that leave you no better off than before you searched.
Who We Are
Botleneckcalculator. was started by gamers who got tired of building “perfect” rigs that still underperformed. Our co-founder, Muhammad Asif, has spent over 22 years in technology and years chasing the ideal build top-tier parts, flawless specs on paper only to watch games stutter anyway. The culprit, every time, turned out to be a bottleneck nobody’s calculator caught because it only looked at CPU and GPU in isolation, never at the resolution actually being played on.
That frustration led to a partnership with Haris Khan, our co-founder and a certified CompTIA A+ and AWS Cloud Practitioner with 8+ years running his own tech business. Between a gamer’s instinct for what actually matters in a build and the technical background to model it properly, we built the calculator we couldn’t find anywhere else.
What We Offer
Our core tool, the Bottleneck Calculator, checks your CPU and GPU pairing at your actual resolution 1080p, 1440p, or 4K because the same two components can be perfectly balanced at one resolution and badly mismatched at another. Most calculators skip this entirely and give you one number regardless of what you’re playing at.
Beyond the base calculation, we offer:
- Compare mode see two builds side by side before you commit to an upgrade
- Optimal Match instantly find the cheapest CPU or GPU that won’t hold your current part back
- PSU Calculator size your power supply correctly based on your full build, not just a rough estimate
- History track past checks so you’re not re-entering the same specs every time you’re deciding
- In-depth guides plain-language articles on what bottlenecking actually is, how to fix one without buying new hardware, and how to read the warning signs before they cost you money
- A free offline app for players who want the same instant answer without needing a browser open
Our Approach
We’re not interested in guessing. Every result is grounded in real benchmark data and updated as new hardware including the latest RTX and Ryzen generations hits the market. We’d rather tell you plainly when a result is an estimate versus a measured figure than dress up a rough guess as a precise number.
We also don’t believe bottlenecking is a yes/no question. It depends entirely on what you’re doing with the PC. A competitive shooter player chasing 240 FPS at 1080p has a completely different bottleneck profile than a 4K single-player enthusiast or a video editor exporting timelines so our tools are built to account for what you’re actually optimizing for, not just what parts you own.
What We Value
- Clarity over noise. A result you can act on beats a chart you have to decode.
- No manufacturer bias. Our recommendations are based on performance data, not sponsorships.
- Free access, always. The calculator, the guides, and the app stay free no signup wall between you and an answer.
- Plain-language education. We’d rather explain why a component is holding you back than just tell you to buy something new.
